About Your Dentist

Neil S. Oza, DDS

Dr. Oza has been living in Hammond, LA for 4 years now. He was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He received his BS in biomedical engineering from Louisiana Tech University where he graduated with a Cum Laude distinction. After engineering, he decided to pursue dentistry. He chose the LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans for his dental education. After graduating from dental school in 2003, he decided to further his dental education by doing a general practice residency at the VA Medical Center in Biloxi, Mississippi where he gained a great deal of experience in oral surgery, prosthodontics, and geriatric dentistry.

In his free time, Dr. Oza enjoys playing the guitar, violin, drums, piano, volunteering, and playing tennis. He believes in giving back to the community and his dental profession. He served as the treasurer for the Greater Baton Rouge Dental Association for three years, has been a member of the Northlake Dental Association for four years, and has participated as a delegate for the House of Delegates for the Louisiana Dental Association twice. Dr. Oza is co-founder of the Southeast Academy of Dental Assisting where he serves as one of the main instructors.

Continuing dental education and the newest technology are integral parts in providing excellent care to patients. That’s why Dr. Oza stays up to date in the latest research, technology, and dental equipment.

He has completed training in placing implants through Osteoready and Alabama Implant Education. He is also qualified to perform Invisialign treatment and has received training on traditional straight wire braces through Gerety Orthodontics.

Dr. Oza wants to make sure your experience here is amazing from the time you call us until the time you walk out of our office! He strives to provide every dental patient with excellent dental treatment while keeping them very comfortable.

Dr. Mwendo was named a Premier Provider of Invisalign (Top 25% in North America), and she also received Fellowship status of the Academy of General Dentistry (7% of dentists in the United States achieve this award). Dr. Mwendo has received advanced training in Implant Dentistry, Aesthetic/Cosmetic Dentistry, Oral Conscious/Moderate Sedation and Laser Dentistry.

Life & Hobbies

Dr. Mwendo is from New Orleans and is a mother of two young boys, HB3 and Purpose. When she is not practicing, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Hugh, and her kids. They are members of the Audubon Institute and Louisiana Children's Museum. Dr. Mwendo meditates daily and finds that this lifestyle gives her the clarity she needs to practice dentistry and achieve fulfillment. She also enjoys working towards her fitness and nutrition goals.
